Parthenophobia is the fear of virgins or young girls

The origin of the word partheno is Greek (meaning younger girl) and phobia is Greek (meaning fear). Parthenophobia is considered to be a particular phobia, which are typically fears of certain objects or situations. Parthenophobia can be related Pedophobia (fear of children) and Ephebiphobia (fear of teenagers).
It is generally accepted that phobias come up from a mixture of external events (i.e. traumatic events) and internal predispositions (i.e. heredity or genetics). Many particular phobias may be traced again to a selected triggering event, normally a traumatic experience at an early age. Social phobias and agoraphobia have more complex causes that are not entirely recognized at this time.
