Keraunophobia or Ceraunophobia- Fear of thunder and lightning

What is keraunophobia?

Keraunophobia is the fear of thunder and lightning. The origin of the word Cerauno is Greek (meaning thunder, ligtning or thunderbolt) and phobia is Greek (meaning fear). Ceraunophobia is considered to be a particular phobia, which is discussed on the home page. Ceraunophobia is also called Astraphobia, Astrapophobia, Brontophobia, Keraunophobia, and Tonitrophobia.

What are the causes?
It is usually accepted that phobias arise from a combination of external events (i.e. traumatic events) and inside predispositions (i.e. heredity or genetics). Many specific phobias might be traced again to a particular triggering event, normally a traumatic expertise at an early age. Social phobias and agoraphobia have more complicated causes that aren’t entirely identified at this time. It is believed that heredity, genetics, and mind chemistry combine with life-experiences to play a significant role within the development of phobias.

What are the symptoms?
As with any phobia, the symptoms vary by person depending on their degree of fear. The symptoms typically include excessive anxiety, dread and anything related to panic resembling shortness of breath, fast breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, nausea, lack of ability to articulate phrases or sentences, dry mouth and shaking. .These is most common with the other phobias as well.
